Mobile Service Sync Review: What You Pay, and What You Get for It

Mobile Service Sync is the mobile mechanic software we would buy with our own money. Core is $49 a month for one user and carries every criterion on this site, Growth is $175 for two users with unlimited jobs, five users come to $262, and there is no contract, no onboarding fee and a 14-day trial with no card.

Our Pick

Ranked first of 7. Every criterion on this site is on the first plan, and the price is published at every crew size.

What You Pay

Three plans, all published. Core is $49 a month for one user and 20 jobs a month. Growth is $175 with two users, unlimited jobs and customer and fleet portals. Pro is $299 with five users and the fleet sales pipeline. Each user past a plan's own is $29 a month, and paying a year ahead brings the three to $39, $140 and $239 a month.

Five users land on Growth rather than Pro: $175 plus three users at $29 is $262, which is under Pro's $299. Pro is the plan for a business selling to fleets through its pipeline. At two users, a year of Growth is $2,100.

Card payments cost 2.9% + $0.30 on standard cards through Rainforest (AmEx, business and international cards carry a small published surcharge), and ACH is $0.20 a transaction.

Mobile Service Sync's plans and pricing

What the First Plan Already Includes

Core carries the technician app for iPhone and Android, routing that orders each technician's day on real drive times with one click, online booking limited by your hours, your service area and how many techs and vans are working, two-way texting with photos and 1,000 texts a month, and a Google or Facebook review request after every job.

The vehicle is the record. A plate or a VIN fills in the year, make, model, trim and engine on every plan, and the oil weight and capacity are saved on the vehicle after its first visit.

Mobile Service Sync for mobile mechanics

On the Road

When the signal drops, job status, inspections with photos, completion, line items, cash and check payments and the time clock carry on, then sync once the phone reconnects. A card payment or a text waits for signal.

Stock is counted per van and per shop, and each job takes its parts off the count when it closes.

The technician app

Fleet Accounts

Each fleet carries its own pricing, PO rules and net 15 or net 30 terms on every plan. The portal where a fleet manager sees every vehicle arrives on Growth, and the fleet sales pipeline on Pro.

Fleet management

What It Does Not Do

Mobile Service Sync does not order parts, carry a labor guide, take Tap to Pay or record inspection video, and it does not look up fluid specs from a VIN. Routing orders one technician's day per click rather than the whole crew at once. If you price jobs from a labor guide today, keep that subscription.
