Shopmonkey Review: Texting Included, Booking Sold Separately

Shopmonkey puts more into its first plan than most repair shop systems: $239 Basic seats three users and includes the tech app and unlimited two-way texting. A mobile mechanic still pays $588 a month once online booking is added, plus a one-time $500 migration fee, and its pages name no routing and no offline mode.

Texting on Basic

Ranked 5 of 7; Mobile Service Sync scores 100.0. Best for: An independent repair shop of two or three people that wants texting in its first plan.

What Shopmonkey Costs a Mobile Mechanic

Basic is $239 a month for three users, Clever $399 for four and Genius $499 for five, and each extra user is $20 a month. Seating five is cheapest on Basic with two added users, at $279.

Online booking, reviews and campaigns come in a separate product, CRM Essentials, at $349 a month. With it, one to three users pay $588 a month and five pay $628. Bringing your data across costs a one-time $500, so the first year at two users comes to $7,556.

Its terms of service leave the length of the term to your agreement, and it offers a demo with no free trial stated.

What It Leaves Out Once You Are in a Van

Shopmonkey for Techs runs on iPhone and Android on Basic, and a VIN decodes on Basic too. Plate lookup goes through CARFAX, and typing a plate into search is a Genius feature.

The mobile mechanic page it publishes names no routing, and its system requirements recommend a connection speed rather than describing any offline mode. Inventory starts on Clever and is counted per shop, with transfers between shops.

Booking caps jobs per day and per slot, with no rule for a service area.
